The XNX Transmitter: A Complete Review

xnx

xnx

XNX Universal Transmitter is an intensively flexible transmitter that accepts signals in the Honeywell Analytic range. In addition, it provides a wide-ranging standard output. As a result, users can fulfill their gas detection requirements using a single interface.

The gas detection systems come equipped with detection technologies. They usually point to flammable detectors, toxic and oxygen electrochemical cell detectors, and open-path infrared detectors. Moreover, the distinctive feature of the XNX transmitter is that it provides a standard interface to all these types. It meets the industry standard requirements and also the application requirement individually

The adaptability of the XNX Universal Transmitter:

XNX Universal Transmitter is fully adaptable to any change in site output standards. It configures the updates in the system and gives the output accordingly. Above all, if any other output standard develops in the industry, XNX fits with its settings.

Reduced Installation Cost:

The XNX Universal transmitter has no complex installation procedure. The simple installation reduces the cost and simplifies many steps. In addition, there are fewer chances of mistakes in structure and operation since the building is simple.

Flexibility:

The XNX Universal transmitter lets you use the feasible technique of gas detection. Also, it synchronizes with detectors and is flexible enough to provide the output as required.

Structure of XNX Transmitter:

The XNX transmitter comes with features that help to perform in any situation. It is enclosed in a flameproof compartment which is either made of aluminum alloy or stainless steel.

Furthermore, the LCD indicates the units and presents the output using alphabets, digits, and symbols. In addition, it has a button that helps users to change the display settings.

Compatibility of XNX Sensor:

XNX has maximum compatibility, and it is best to use all types of Honeywell Analytics. It gives equally suitable responses with gas sensors, including Searchpoint Optima Plus, Searchline Excel, Sensepoint HT, Sensepoint PPM, etc.

The XNX Universal transmitter includes an MPD (Multi-Purpose Detector) made of stainless steel and is very handy. It holds infrared sensor cartridges. It can measure flammable gases in the range of up to 100LEL. Meanwhile, the content of the infrared sensor is 0-100% for hydrocarbons, 0-1000% for Methane, and the same for Carbon Dioxide.

Safety:

The XNX sensor is safe with hot-swapped detectors. In addition, the time and money required for service and repair are meager.

Configuration:

The XNX Universal Transmitter has three primary settings for different sensors type.

The Infrared customization works with Searchline Excel and Searchpoint Optima Plus gas sensor.

Installation:

The XNX Universal transmitter usually is for working in possibly explosive nearby environments. For this, users should follow the installation guideline.

Firstly, a protected cable is best. The ideal area of the section of the appropriate line is 0.5〖mm〗^2 to 2.5〖mm〗^2. It depends on the minimum operating voltage demand and the cable’s length. Five entries of M25 present in the system help mount local sensors and for accepting the line from sensors mounted at a distance.

What is the Maximum Cable Length?

The maximum cable length appropriate to use with a controller and pointer usually depends upon the following facts:

Terminals on Module:

All connections of the sensor and module connect at the terminal block. It rests on a movable POD module. Furthermore, the terminals depend on the three basic settings and options.

Features Summary of XNX Universal Transmitter:

It is usable in 3 versions, catalytic bead and IR Cell, Point and open path, and electromechanical cell.

Furthermore, it has replaceable cells and easy-to-use plug-in sensors

Also, it has 4-20m with HART

The universal transmitter has fine sensors, mV, IR cells, and Catalytic beads.

You can use local IS for HART as an option.

The communication option includes Modbus and FOUNDATION

It holds a safe block for the EC connection and the HART.

Minimum practice is required to operate the transmitter.

It provides multiple operating options.

It can sense gas from 0 to 100%

Temperature:

The temperature range of the XNX transmitter is from -40 to +65 degree Celsius (-40 to +150 Fahrenheit).

Material:

Its material is painted aluminum (LM25).

Structure:

It is inside a marine finish painted aluminum alloy of 5-coat or sometimes in 316 stainless steel. It weighs about 2.8 kg in aluminum alloy and 5kg in 316 stainless steel.

Its dimensions are 160 mm by 197 mm by 114mm. (in inches, 6.1 by 7.8 by 4.5). Therefore, a setup kit of about 150 mm is appropriate to set.

Operating Humidity: Operating humidity ranges between 0-99 % RH.

Operating Pressure: The operating pressure of the XNX Universal transmitter is 90-110 Pa.

Storage Conditions: The storage conditions are -40 C to 75 C (noncondensing).

Current Output: It supports HART 6.0 structure.

Terminals: it has a cage-looking plug-in with screws that support wire of diameter 0.5 [mm]^2 to 2.5 [mm]^2.

Installation (HART Port): it connects to cable entries on the XNX device.

Protection: it comes with atmosphere protection.

Summary:

The XNX universal transmitter uses a wide array of remote gas sensors or Honeywell Analytical sensors. It can detect toxic, flammable, and Oxygen hazards. Moreover, it is appropriate for risky areas of Zone 1, Zone 2, Zone 21, and Zone 22. alsoIt is also worthy for North American Class I, Class II, Division 1, and Division 2 Areas.
