Consider the drying time

Steam cleaning can dry in two days, but this can be a problem for areas that are heavily used. Some processes use less water. Steam cleaning can cause carpets to become saturated, which can lead to mould and mildew. A faster drying time allows for quicker access to common areas and less disruption for residents and staff.

Use soaps and solvents that are suitable for seniors

Water used for traditional steam cleaning may contain detergents which leave behind a sticky, soapy residue. The residue can also attract dirt faster on the carpet and require more frequent cleaning.

Avoid spotting products with a lot of surfactants and soaps, as they tend to leave behind a residue that attracts dirt. To remove any excess liquids, blot the spot or spill with a white, clean cloth. This will prevent it from penetrating further into the carpet fibres.
